Anish Kapoor & Rembrandt

16 December 2015

Works by the celebrated artist Anish Kapoor will go on show in the Gallery of Honour at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam from 27 November 2015 to 6 March 2016.

Three painted reliefs created from layers of red and white resin and silicone evoke images of bloody, sinewy lumps of meat. At the Rijksmuseum these extraordinary visceral works will enter a visual dialogue with Rembrandt’s late works, such as The Jewish Bride, The Syndics, Titus Dressed as a Monk and Self-Portrait as the Apostle Paul.

The Rijksmuseum regularly offers space to contemporary artists including Anselm Kiefer (2011), Frank Auerbach (2013), Damien Hirst (2008) and Daan Roosgaarde (2014).
