Laure Prouvost selected to represent France at the 2019 Venice Biennale

Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, on the proposal of a selection committee, have selected Laure Prouvost to represent France at the 58th International Art Biennial Venice, which will take place from 11 May to 24 November 2019.

Born in Lille in 1978, Laure Prouvost trained in the United Kingdom and lives and works in London and Antwerp. She was the recipient of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women in 2011 and the Turner Prize in 2013. A major solo exhibition, Ring, sing and drink for trespassing, will open at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris on 22 June.
