Lawrence Weiner's interactive installation unveiled in Chicago

12 June 2018

Lawrence Weiner's interactive public art installation, 'OUT OF SIGHT' is now on view at Maggie Daley Park in Chicago. The piece takes the form of a hopscotch, filled with inspirational and aspirational words and phrases which aim to inspire all people to think creatively and encourage positive thinking. The 60-foot hopscotch will be on view at Maggie Daley Park throughout the summer, while two smaller hopscotches in English and Spanish will be unveiled at Walsh Park at The 606 and open on 23 June.

Pop up locations will open at Chicago Park District Cultural Centers in neighborhood locations all over the city throughout the summer and fall. OUT OF SIGHT facilitators will be on site at Maggie Daley, Walsh Park, and the pop-up locations to facilitate workshops and interactions with the public. Materials will also be on site for parents, campers, school groups, and the general public to help guide their interactions with the piece.
